Frames

Frames is a semester-long project where I explored themes of household objects and memory through mold-making and manipulation. I cast cheap store-brand picture frames in plaster and porcelain, and allowed the drying process to create naturally create flaws that I could use to alter the ‘integrity’ of the piece. I intended for these objects to jog the viewer’s memories surrounding picture frames, and to allow the mind to make connections between their own memories and the ‘damage’ being perceived.
