Artist Statement
In my creative process, I am most inspired by the body as a creature and the spectrums of human emotion. Whenever I have an idea for a project, I write down a description of the concept in my head before creating sketches which I then use as blueprints for three-dimensional ceramic sculptures. I draw inspiration from many forms of media during my making process, ranging from ancient statues to modern collages. My work represents conversations that go unspoken, memories of rooms full of nameless tension, and rituals that bridge the gap between vulnerability and shame. I want people interacting with my work to approach it with their whole mind, so that they can use my work to interact more deeply with themselves.
